Why Not...

I must confess that I hate to write, journal, and type so please be forgiving as you read my typos, grammar errors and long run on sentences. I usually pass all of these typing, wordy jobs onto to... well anyone who will do them. Today I am going to stepped outside my comfort zone and share a piece of me with you.
Have you ever really wanted to learn something? You buy all the books, you research it online, you buy all the tools and products that the books and research tell you, you need. And then...well it sits...waiting and waiting for...inspiration to hit (like a lightning bolt, I guess). Well I have done this with a few things...ok a lot of things. Why do I do this?? I don't know but if you know please send that lightning bolt my way.
Are you asking yourself why in the heck is this lady telling me this?? Well yesterday I met someone who knows what I want so very much to know. Not only does she know what I want to know but she actually does it. When she started pulling things out of her box to show me, I was ready to see anything but WOW I was not prepared to LOVE most of it and then want to do it to. Not only do I want to learn how to do but I must learn how to do and I want everyone to know about it because I think it is soooooo cool. It looks like the kind of art I have seen in magazines & online and now I have seen it in person. So next I feel the need to create some of my own.
So now what do I do??? Well I choke a bit and ask her more questions. She has so many wonderful ideas and she is talking a beautiful language that goes right along with all my original ideas for CREATE. I want to join her in her adventure but do I dare...
Well if I have learned anything over the last 6 months, I have learned that it is always best to sleep on something and then decide. I have also learned that I can't predict the future any more than I can predict what my customers will like or will want to do. All I can do is pray and take a leap of faith... So what did I decide to do?
Well first off I didn't sleep on it, I was way too excited. I did think about it for the afternoon before leaping but then I leaped BIG time. So I would like to welcome our new mixed medium artist Catherine to CREATE. She has some truly amazing ideas that we will be trying out during the month of June. I have three pictures of her work that I would like to share with you today. Then more will be coming out soon along with classes for youth, adults and mom/daughter.
